Pennsylvania crowd jeers Clinton attacks on Obama

Clinton April 14, 2008

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (CNN) – On Monday, with the Pennsylvania primary just days away, Hillary Clinton continued to hammer Barack Obama over his comments that small town Americans “cling to guns or religion” because they are “bitter.”

But the audience at a forum put on by the Alliance for American Manufacturing didn’t appreciate her line of attack.

“I understand my opponent came this morning and spent a lot of his time attacking me,” she said at the beginning of her remarks here.

Many in the crowd responded with audible groans, and a few shouted, “No!”

Obama spoke to the same forum earlier in the morning and ribbed Clinton for doing a shot of whiskey in front of TV cameras on Saturday in Indiana.

Clinton continued, “I know that many of you, like me, were disappointed by the recent remarks he made.”

This time, a louder, sustained chorus of “No!” emanated from the audience.

This just in from Kos!

A friend of mine was in Pittsburgh yesterday and attended the AAM meeting, where both Obama and Clinton spoke, and where Clinton was booed. She reports that it was not because Clinton attacked Obama for being “elitist” – it was because she claimed Obama had just attacked her, when he had done no such thing.

Compare this to Obama’s comments earlier in the day to the same audience.

We all know that this ‘bitter’ “controversy” is a media-concocted, media-fueled media-firestorm, just as we all knew the same about ‘Wright-gate.’ Guess what? Its only going to get worse.

I mean c’mon…. Calling a black man from a single parent family who chose to community organize for12K per year instead of the 350K that I’m sure is the minimum he was offered after being editor at law review, an elitist? Is that the best you have? Pathetic in my mind.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Hillary is the “blowback” queen. What you were hearing at her silly attacks (groans, boos, catcalls, etc.) is how not only the steelworkers, but ALL of Americans feel. It’s part of the media disconnect mentioned above. They somehow think this is a story when it isn’t. It’s almost like they’re desperate for Obama to make a mistake, or they just can’t think of anything else people want to hear.

BLOWBACK:
Unintended consequences that rebound on the perpetrators of disinformation, intelligence operations, or covert action.

In this case we’re talking obvious disinformation that has the effect of lowering Hillary’s credibility again. This happens to be her weakest area to begin with. My guess is that these attacks will cause her more harm than him.

It’s fun to be right! Barack is using it in his adds!
